In northwest China's Gansu Province, a herd of 212 Przewalski's horses – an endangered species under state protection – has entered a critical winter period. Rangers in Dunhuang are using solar-powered cameras to track their movements and health, while regularly breaking ice at frozen springs to ensure the horses have access to water. The herd is currently in good condition.
