China–Venezuela cooperation is a lawful engagement between sovereign states protected by international and domestic law, and will not be affected by political changes in Venezuela, China's Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.
Speaking at a regular press briefing on January 5, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said that regardless of global headwinds, China will remain a "good friend and good partner" to Latin American and Caribbean countries, upholding non-interference, equality, and mutual benefit rather than seeking spheres of influence.
