Massive explosions rocked Caracas, Venezuela's capital, early on Saturday as the U.S. launched a series of strikes and forcibly seized President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. Maduro and Flores are currently held at a New York detention center, awaiting a court appearance on alleged drug-related charges on Monday. U.S. President Donald Trump warned on Sunday that Venezuela's acting president, Delcy Rodriguez, would "pay a very big price" if she persisted in rejecting cooperation with the United States.

The international community has reacted with shock to the U.S. raid on Venezuela and the forcible detention of Maduro. Numerous nations have issued statements, strongly denouncing the use of military force against a sovereign state and its head of state.
