China remains a good friend and reliable partner of Latin American and Caribbean countries, regardless of how international situations change, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Monday.

"China upholds the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other states and respects the choices of Latin American people without drawing ideological lines," Lin said at a regular news briefing.

"China has engaged in interactions and collaborations with Latin American countries based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit," he said. "China has never pursued establishing spheres of influence or targeted any party."

"Latin American countries ought to have the right to determine their path of development and choose their partners," Lin said. "China is prepared to stand in solidarity with Latin American countries in the face of international uncertainties. Through win-win cooperation, China aims to achieve prosperity and benefit the people of both sides."
