A vehicle carrying Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro arrived at a federal courthouse in Manhattan, New York, where he is set to face alleged drugs and weapons charges.

The Swiss Federal Council has decided to freeze any assets held in Switzerland by Maduro and other persons associated with him.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the United States might launch a second military strike on Venezuela if remaining members of the administration do not cooperate with his efforts to get the country "fixed."

China supports the UN Security Council to hold an emergency meeting on the U.S. military action against Venezuela, which is scheduled later on Monday, and backs the Security Council in fulfilling its due role in accordance with its own responsibilities, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said.
