The Yani Wetland forms part of the city of Nyingchi in Xizang Autonomous Region, southwest China. Today the area is thriving, with a rich diversity of wildlife and plants. Yet not so long ago, sand extended as far as the eye could see here. The incredible transformation is largely a result of the guidance provided by President Xi Jinping on protecting the environment in Xizang. High on the plateau, a story of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature is unfolding.
