On January 6, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning presided over a regular press conference in Beijing where a reporter asked questions regarding Delcy Rodriguez being sworn in as acting president of Venezuela. Mao Ning stated that the Chinese side respects Venezuela's sovereignty and independence, as well as the arrangements made by the Venezuelan government in accordance with its constitution and laws.
