China's 42nd Antarctic expedition has moved into full-scale scientific operations, with new technology deployed across its polar stations. Drone-mounted hyperspectral imaging technology is used to capture multidimensional optical data of the terrain. The 19-month expedition set sail from Shanghai on November 1, 2023 and is slated to return in May 2026.
