China's software and information technology (IT) sector sustained steady growth in the first eleven months of 2025, with revenue from software-related business up 13.3 percent year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The sector's revenue totaled 13,977.7 billion yuan (about $2 trillion) over the eleven months. The export volume rose 8.1 percent to $56.9 billion, maintaining growth for nine consecutive months.
IT services accounted for 68.8 percent of the total revenue. Meanwhile, revenue from cloud computing and Big Data as a Service (BDaaS) increased 12.8 percent to 1,465.8 billion yuan (about $210 billion). Revenue from integrated circuit design rose rapidly to 402.8 billion yuan (about $57.7 billion), up 16.5 percent annually.
Software services saw continued revenue growth of 11.4 percent, with basic and industrial software products totaling 2,950.9 billion yuan (approximately $422.8 billion).
By region, the revenue of software-related business in the eastern, central, western, and northeastern regions increased by 13.7 percent, 13.2 percent, 10.3 percent, and 9.6 percent, respectively.
Notably, eastern China accounted for 83.4 percent of the total revenue from software-related business. The revenue in the Yangtze River Delta rose by 14.8 percent. The five provincial-level regions with the highest revenue in sequence are Beijing, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong, and Shanghai.
