Beijing's Shougang Park, a former steel mill, has become a top tourism destination in the Chinese capital. During the 2026 New Year's Day holiday, its neon nights, ice and snow activities and creative markets attracted a mass of visitors, ranking it among Beijing’s top 10 scenic spots.
As the permanent venue for the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) and Beijing City's New Year Countdown, the park combines spaces for exhibitions, sports and technology. Iconic industrial structures like blast furnaces and cooling towers have been transformed into cultural complexes, sports parks and family attractions with full support facilities, and popular souvenir shops.
