Gunfire was heard near the presidential palace in Venezuelan capital Caracas on January 5. After the gunshots, a CGTN reporter captured exclusive scenes on the streets.

The incident was caused by an unauthorized drone flying over the area. It prompted the police to fire warning shots. No exchange of fire or clashes occurred at the scene, according to Venezuela's Ministry of Communication.

The ministry added that the overall situation nationwide remains stable, with normal social order.
