The Colombian government has militarized its border with Venezuela and announced the deployment of 30,000 soldiers after Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was forcibly seized in a U.S. operation on January 3.
The border city of Cucuta has seen an increasing number of immigrants crossing from Venezuela. A CGTN stringer interviewed a Venezuelan immigrant over the regional situation. Daikelis Rodriguez, a housewife from Venezuela, said she didn't know what was really going to happen.
"That (the United States) wants to control Venezuela, I think it's in bad taste," she said.
