China repatriates key cross-border gambling and fraud suspect from Cambodia

China's Ministry of Public Security announced that Chen Zhi, the ringleader of a major cross-border gambling and fraud criminal syndicate, was repatriated from Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to China, on January 7 with the support of Cambodian authorities.

Chen is suspected of multiple crimes including running illegal casinos, fraud and concealing criminal proceeds. Chinese police said further investigations are underway and additional suspects will be publicly sought.
