Constructed by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), the first flyover in Zanzibar, Tanzania was inaugurated on January 6.

At the opening ceremony, Tanzania's Zanzibar President Hussein Ali Mwinyi praised CCECC for its professionalism and strong sense of responsibility throughout the project, noting that the team had made meaningful contributions to Zanzibar's infrastructure development.

Mwinyi said the flyover and a 2.2-kilometer southern coastal road project, also undertaken by CCECC, play a significant role in enhancing the region's image and improving local livelihoods.

He added that the projects exemplify pragmatic China-Africa cooperation and will strongly support the growth of Zanzibar's tourism and trade, contributing to sustainable economic development.
