In a nail-biting CBA encounter, DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell hit a buzzer-beater and finished with a game-high 22 points to help the Shandong Kylins get past the Beijng Ducks away 87-85 for their fifth win in a row.

The game started with Shandong trailing until Xie Zhijie launched a crucial three-pointer. Chen Peidong followed suit with a layup, briefly giving the visitors a one-point lead. However, Beijing Ducks forward Omari Spellman was quick to respond, executing an impressive jumper en route to a team-high 20 points. Marquese Chris, undeterred, answered back with a mid-range shot, pushing Shandong ahead by four. The Kylins' American import also powered his way to 18 points.

After the break, the Ducks mounted a comeback, with Chen Ying-chun nailing another triple to narrow the gap to two points. In a spectacular display, Chen hit yet another three, reclaiming the lead for Beijing at 62-61.

In the final quarter, Purcell made a pivotal steal, driving past Zhou Qi for a thunderous dunk that put Shandong back in front by two. With the score tied at 85-all and just four seconds remaining, Shandong seized possession. Purcell deftly navigated Zeng Fanbo's defense, executing a float that clinched the victory as time ran out.

In other CBA action, defending champions Guangsha coasted past the Xinjiang Flying Tigers with a 87-72 victory. Sun Minghui set up Jakarr Sampson for an explosive dunk, while Rayjon Tucker connected with Lin Ping-sheng for a three-pointer, allowing Guangsha to establish a substantial lead of 22 points by halftime.

Though Xinjiang fought back, highlighted by Yang Rui's three, they could only trim the deficit to eight in the third quarter. Guangsha maintained their form, with Zhao Jiaren contributing to the score as they sealed a 15-point win, improving their record to 10-2.
