New giant panda couple makes public debut in Malaysia

00:38

At the Giant Panda Conservation Center at Zoo Negara in Selangor, Malaysia, giant pandas Chen Xing and Xiao Yue made their public debut after completing quarantine. The ceremony, attended by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his family, marked a significant moment in the ongoing cultural exchange between China and Malaysia.

The pandas, now in good health, quickly adapted to their new home with the help of high-quality bamboo. Visitors, many seeing a giant panda for the first time, were thrilled to watch the pair's playful antics. This marks the beginning of a 10-year panda conservation partnership between China and Malaysia, continuing the legacy of cooperation that began in 2014 with the arrival of Xing Xing and Liang Liang.
