U.S. President Donald Trump has been briefed in recent days on new options for military strikes in Iran, the New York Times (NYT) reported on Saturday, citing multiple U.S. officials familiar with the matter.

The NYT said the move came as Trump considers following through on his threat to attack Iran amid protests in the country.

The officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told the NYT that Trump has been presented with a range of options, including strikes on "non-military sites" in Tehran, but he has not made a final decision yet.
