Winter migration is in full swing along the Yellow River. In Shanxi's Pinglu County, the Sanwan wetlands are now teeming with mergansers – from common species to the rare, nationally protected scaly-sided merganser. It is a spectacular display of wildlife thriving in one of the region's most important bird habitats.
