At the World Table Tennis (WTT) Champions Doha tournament on Sunday, Zhu Yuling and Lin Yun-ju emerged victorious in the women's and men's singles competitions respectively, marking monumental achievements in their careers.
The Macao SAR's Zhu, who made her return to international play in September 2024 after a four-year hiatus, captured her first WTT Champions trophy. Despite facing an early setback against world No. 4 Chen Xingtong of China, Zhu showcased her tenacity, rallying from behind to secure a thrilling victory 5-11, 13-11, 3-11, 11-7, 11-8, and 13-11. This victory adds to her growing accolades, following her triumph at the 2025 United States Smash.
On the men's side, Chinese Taipei's Lin Yun-ju broke a lengthy 26-month title drought with a decisive win over Republic of Korea's Jang Woo-jin 11-7, 11-9, 11-9, and 13-11. This victory marked Lin's first WTT title since his success at the 2023 Champions Frankfurt.
With the conclusion of this season-opening WTT Series tournament, Doha will continue to host the WTT Star Contender event from January 13-18.
