A major Spring Festival cultural gala organized by the Chinese community in Canada will be held on January 31, 2026 at Toronto's Meridian Arts Centre (Lyric Theatre).

Now in its eighth year, the annual event has become a familiar fixture on the Chinese New Year calendar for Chinese Canadians.

The upcoming edition is expected to bring performers from China and Canada together on the same stage, with a program that places emphasis on originality. Many of the works are newly created or making their stage debut, spanning music, dance, and traditional Chinese opera. Together, they showcase the diversity of Chinese performing arts and how these traditions continue to evolve in contemporary settings.

Beyond the live performance in Toronto, the gala is set to reach wider audiences through television and online platforms in both Canada and China. In Canada, Rogers' OMNI network plans to air the program during the festival period, while selected local TV stations and digital platforms in China will also make it available to viewers.
