The Shenzhen Leopards upset the Shanghai Sharks 107-97 at home in Shenzhen, south China's Guangdong Province, on Tuesday, ending the Sharks' nine-game winning streak and dragging them down from the top of the CBA standings.

He Xining and Terquavion Smith were the two unstoppable sources on offence for the hosts. He made three three-pointers to get 25 points and Smith contributed a game-high 38 points.

By contrast, Shanghai had no players over 20 points. Li Hongquan had 19 while none of his teammates even reached 15.

The Leopards built a 30-21 advantage in the first quarter and then managed to stop multiple drives by the Sharks to come back. The visitors had their chances to level the game or even reverse the situation, but their lack of consistency in making triples cost them most of those opportunities.

Shanghai cut their deficit to two points at 94-92 halfway into the fourth quarter, but then Shenzhen went on a 13-2 run which sealed the deal for their eighth win of the season.

In another eye-catching contest of the night, defending champions the Guangsha Lions edged the Xinjiang Flying Tigers 80-73 on the road, rising to first place in the league.

Though Guangsha lacked their franchise star guard Barry Brown, Rayjon Tucker went to the free throw line 20 times and made 15 shots there to score 26 points. His back-court partner Sun Minghui added 19 points and three assists.

The excellent work by the two enabled the Lions to come back from 10 points down in the second half before clinching their second win over the Flying Tigers this season.

Tuesday's other results (home teams listed first):

Ningbo Rockets 97-84 Shanxi Loongs

Liaoning Flying Leopards 70-86 Qingdao Eagles

Nanjing Monkey Kings 71-87 Guangdong Southern Tigers

Shandong Kylins 108-85 Jilin Northeast Tigers
