"The Shyness of Trees," an animated short co-directed by a seven-student team from Gobelins, France's top animation school, has made the Oscar shortlist for Best Animated Short Film at the 98th Academy Awards, and is now competing for one of just five final nomination spots. The film has already played at over 30 international animation festivals and picked up several awards. Shu Bingqing, one of the core team members and one of four Chinese creators on the project, recently spoke with CGTN reporter Yang Yan in an online interview.
