A Swedish guitar master's Chinese music dream

04:43

Zheng'an, a county town nestled in the mountains of China's Zunyi holds a surprising title: it is the world's largest guitar manufacturing base, accounting for one-seventh of the global guitar market. Zheng'an attracts many guitar players in search of music and end up jamming together with local strummers, adding their notes to the sound of the city itself.

In 2017, Swedish guitar master Johannes Möller arrived, full of curiosity. The first thing he noticed? The sheer number of instruments destined overseas, the export that earns Zheng'an its "Capital of Guitars" moniker. Then, he felt the vibrand music culture pouring onto every street and alley. It was the siren song that clinched it; Möller decided to make Zheng'an his home, realizing his "music dream" here.
