"We will be on board with China on the issue of the one-China principle forever," said Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), in an exclusive interview with China Media Group (CMG).

He reaffirmed the AUC's unwavering support for the one-China principle, stressing that respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity is a shared concern for China and Africa. Drawing parallels with challenges faced on the African continent, he said China's territorial sovereignty is as inviolable as African borders, adding that the African Union firmly opposes separatism and external interference. Youssouf underscored that supporting the one-China principle also safeguards Africa's own fundamental interests, noting that the AUC will always stand with China on this issue.
