Nanjing ends five-game losing streak in Jaylen Hands' dominant debut

The Nanjing Monkey Kings crushed the Shenzhen Leopards 115-86 at home in Nanjing, east China's Jiangsu Province, on Friday, putting an end to their five-game losing streak.

The hosts' newly-signed American guard Jaylen Hands made his debut with a dominant double-double of 32 points and 12 assists in addition to six rebounds and two steals. His back court partner Guo Haowen contributed 25 points and six assists.

With six of their players reaching double-digit points, Nanjing rose to a 29-19 lead in the first quarter before continuing to extend their advantage as the game continued. Shenzhen tried to rally in the second half, but they were never able to narrow the gap.

The Monkey Kings secured their fifth win of the season and rank 16th place in the league. The Leopards are 11th.

Also on the night, the Liaoning Flying Leopards defeated the Xinjiang Flying Tigers 82-75 at home in All-Star guard Zhao Jiwei's first game since returning from injury.

In his first appearance of the season, Zhao scored a game-high 24 points and seven assists for Liaoning. He made three triples in the final quarter and sealed the deal for the home side at the free throw line.

The Shanxi Loongs came back from 12 points down to edge the Beijing Ducks 90-84, avoiding their third straight loss.

The visitors' bench unit made key contributions to the crucial victory by outscoring their Beijing counterpart 49-31. Zhang Ning added eight points for Shanxi in the final quarter in which they outscored the Ducks 29-16.

The Ducks not only suffered their fifth loss of the season, but also saw their starting center Zhou Qi exit the contest early with an injury.
