Since the beginning of 2025, the U.S. has repeatedly threatened to take over Greenland and suggested the possibility of using force. On January 12, Randy Fine, a Republican congressman from Florida, proposed a bill to take all necessary measures to annex Greenland. CGTN Stringer interviewed several Greenlandic residents to share their views on the repeated threats.

"I think it is preposterous. We are free people, and we don't want to be part of the United States," said local resident Kelly Berthelsen.
