One month after Hainan launched its island-wide special customs operation, the free trade port is seeing a surge in foreign travelers. Arrivals rose 60 percent year on year to more than 70,000 visits, with over 90 percent entering visa-free. The increase has been driven by expanded air connectivity: international routes have grown from 70 to 92 over the past year, including China's first seventh-freedom flight linking Prague and Sanya.
