An explosion on Monday at a restaurant in the Afghan capital, Kabul, caused casualties, with an unspecified number of people killed and injured, according to Abdul Mateen Qani, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior.

A restaurant worker said an Afghan guard was killed, and two Chinese nationals were seriously injured and rushed to hospital.

Investigations into the incident have been initiated, the spokesperson added.
