The preparatory session of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) took place in the capital city of Hanoi on Monday, local Vietnam News Agency reported.
Chaired by member of the Political Bureau of the CPV Central Committee and Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, the session approved the congress's working regulations, agenda and the election regulations.
It elected a 16-member presidium, all of whom are members of the Political Bureau, along with a five-member secretariat delegation and a 13-member board for delegate eligibility verification.
The session also passed a report verifying the status of delegates to the congress, which showed that all 1,586 delegates were fully qualified.
