China's top political advisor Wang Huning met with Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan (the lower house of the country's parliament) in Beijing on Tuesday.

Wang, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of China-Pakistan diplomatic relations. China is willing to work with Pakistan to implement the important consensus reached between the two countries' leaders, deepen practical cooperation in various fields, promote the in-depth, solid development of the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, and accelerate the construction of an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.

The National Committee of the CPPCC is willing to make positive contributions to these ends, Wang said.

Sadiq noted that Pakistan adheres firmly to the one-China principle and actively supports the four global initiatives China has proposed. Pakistan is willing to deepen cooperation with China in various fields, including the economy, trade, personnel training, and the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and to fully ensure the safety of Chinese personnel, projects and institutions in Pakistan.

The National Assembly of Pakistan is ready to make unremitting efforts to promote the ironclad friendship between Pakistan and China, Sadiq said.
