According to the traditional Chinese zodiac, 2026 is the Year of the Horse. In 2008, around 2,500 Warring States bamboo slips were deposited at Tsinghua University, the largest known collection of such texts. Since 2010, the research team has made significant discoveries, with "The Bamboo Slips of the Warring States Period (Volume 15)" released on January 19, 2026. This volume includes five texts on horse management, covering equine appraisal, veterinary treatment, training and guidance. These texts are the earliest known systematic records on horses, providing key insights into Warring States equine appraisal, animal husbandry history, zooarchaeology and veterinary history.
