UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer held phone talks with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on January 19, during which they mainly exchanged views on the issue of Greenland.
Starmer reiterated that Greenland's future should lie entirely with the Greenlandic people and the Kingdom of Denmark. He noted that strengthening Arctic security is in the shared interest of all parties and said the UK is willing to fully engage in related cooperation with allies through NATO.
He also stressed that using tariffs to pressure allies in pursuit of collective security goals is the wrong approach.
