Two rare Eurasian lynx, a nationally protected Class II species, have been captured on camera for the first time in the snowy northern hills of Karamay, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The agile predator, a key apex species in the Junggar Basin's desert-mountain ecosystem, was seen resting and moving through forested areas. The sighting highlights improving habitat quality and marks a positive milestone for local biodiversity conservation.
