Japan's Tokyo Electric Power Company said an alarm was triggered during the control rod pulling operation of Unit 6 of the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant on Thursday, and that the operation was stopped. As Japan's largest nuclear power plant, it has been out of operation since the 2011 earthquake and was not restarted until January 21, 2026. The cause is under investigation.
