China's Foreign Ministry on Thursday dismissed remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump questioning China's use of wind power, saying the country has the world's largest wind power capacity and has made widely recognized contributions to global renewable energy development.

Responding to Trump's claim at the World Economic Forum in Davos that China manufactures many wind turbines but has no wind farms, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said China's efforts to address climate change and promote renewable energy are evident. 

He noted that China has built the world's most comprehensive carbon-reduction policy framework and the largest renewable energy system.

As a responsible developing country, China stands ready to work with all parties to advance the global green and low-carbon transition and build a clean, beautiful world, he added.

According to Guo, China's installed wind power capacity has ranked first globally for 15 consecutive years, exceeding 600 gigawatts as of the end of November 2025. 

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China's exports of wind and photovoltaic products helped other countries cut carbon emissions by about 4.1 billion tonnes, he said.
