Live: The new trend that has everyone wanting to 'become Chinese'

A new wave is sweeping across the online world: users, particularly non-Chinese, are declaring they're "becoming Chinese." The phrase "you've met me at a very Chinese time of my life," accompanied by videos of users adopting Chinese habits, has gained traction across social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. The trend is all about embracing and celebrating Chinese culture. It's become a way for people to share their experiences and connect with others while learning a new culture.

One of the pioneers in the craze is Chinese-American creator Sherry Zhu, who went viral after inviting online users to become "Chinese baddies" like her.  The result? Thousands joined in, sharing their new-found Chinese habits like drinking warm instead of cold water and wearing house slippers indoors, amongst others.

Tune in live on January 24 at 7 p.m. Beijing Time as we chat with Sherry about her role in the viral moment, and she and other guests unpack the trend that has everyone wanting to be Chinese!
