The United States has appointed Laura Dogu as charge d'affaires to the Venezuela Affairs Unit in Bogota, according to information published on Thursday on the website of the U.S. embassy in Venezuela.
Dogu, a two-time U.S. ambassador to Central American countries, also serves as the foreign policy advisor to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The U.S. embassy in Venezuela was closed in 2019.
