The United Nations remains "the only international organization with universal membership," the UN secretary-general's spokesperson, Stephane Dujarric, said on Thursday in reaction to U.S. President Donald Trump's inauguration of the Board of Peace. Commenting on the announcement made in Davos, Dujarric said the secretary-general's work continues "with a determination to implement the mandates given to us," stressing that all UN efforts are "underpinned by international law, by the charter of the UN." He added that despite new initiatives announced elsewhere, "our work continues."
