China supports Myanmar's efforts to achieve lasting peace and reconciliation through general elections, aiming for a quick de-escalation of the situation. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Guo Jiakun, made this statement during a regular briefing on Monday in response to questions about the third phase of Myanmar's elections.

Guo noted that China, along with Russia, India, ASEAN countries, and international organizations, observed the elections, which proceeded smoothly with active voter participation.
