More than 1,000 swans have arrived in the wetlands of China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, transforming Yining County into a stage for a winter spectacle.

Thousands of the water birds, mostly mute swans, have been wintering here since last October, thanks to underground hot springs that keep Swan Spring Lake from freezing over.
