During the 14th Five-Year Plan, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has made major strides in opening-up. According to the government work report, the region has strengthened its role as the core of the Silk Road Economic Belt, increasing its number of open ports to 19 and expanding global connectivity.

More than 74,000 China-Europe freight trains have been dispatched and transited, fueling trade along the route. Meanwhile, foreign trade has surged, with import-export volumes surpassing 100 billion yuan for four consecutive years. Xinjiang now maintains trade relations with 228 countries and regions, broadening its international engagement and strengthening global partnerships.
