Khorgas Port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, a key hub for the country's westward opening-up, saw its import-export cargo volume surpass 46 million tons in 2025, up 1.9 percent year on year, setting a new record. Innovations like "Smart Rail Port + Rapid Clearance" have cut the processing time of imports to 16 hours and that of exports to one hour. Road port reforms have reduced clearance steps by 60 percent and boosted efficiency by 80 percent, enabling round-the-clock operations.
The imports included machinery, copper, and agricultural products, while exports featured new energy vehicles, electronics, and textiles, with EVs becoming a standout.
