U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that his administration will de-escalate its immigration crackdown in Minnesota.

"We're going to de-escalate a little bit," Trump said in a recent interview with Fox News.

Following the recent killing of Alex Pretti, who was shot to death by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent, public backlash and political pushback sprang forth in the U.S.

Former U.S. President Joe Biden condemned the recent violent shootings by ICE agents in Minnesota. "We are not a nation that guns down our citizens in the street. We are not a nation that allows our citizens to be brutalized for exercising their constitutional rights. We are not a nation that tramples the fourth amendment and tolerates our neighbors being terrorized."

Calling for the end of violent acts by the federal agents, Biden said, "Violence and terror have no place in the United States of America, especially when it's our own government targeting American citizens."
