Wang Zhelin tallied a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Shanghai Sharks past the Guangzhou Loong Lions 95-78 at home on Tuesday. The performance lifted the 32-year-old Chinese center to 10,000 career points, making him the sixth player to reach the mark in CBA history.

Guangzhou headed to Shanghai on a three-game winning streak and displayed better form in the first quarter, which the visitors started with a 12-0 run. The Loong Lions made six three-pointers and built a 27-13 advantage at the end of the period.

The Sharks, on the other hand, missed 14 of their 18 shots in the opening quarter, with Brandon Goodwin, Zhang Zhenlin and Wang making no field goals at all.

Kenneth Lofton helped the hosts battle back in the second quarter, going 8-for-11 from the field to contribute 17 points, just one fewer than Guangzhou's entire team. His efforts helped Shanghai outscore the opposition 34-18 in this period and grab a 47-45 lead at halftime.

Wang caught fire in the third quarter as the Sharks maintained their momentum, but Justin Holiday and Lindell Wigginton stepped up to keep the deficit close for the visitors, who trailed 72-69 at the end of the period.

Shanghai clamped down on defense again in the fourth quarter, holding the Loong Lions to just nine points. As the home side continued to extend the advantage, Wang completed a three-point play with about three-and-a-half minutes left, reaching the 10,000-point milestone alongside Lester Hudson, Dominique Jones, Yi Jianlian, Zhu Fangyu and Liu Wei.

Lofton poured in a game-high 30 points while also grabbing 10 rebounds. The Sharks sit in second place following their 16th win in the season's first 20 games.
