The China Media Group held a departure ceremony in Beijing on Wednesday for its reporting team heading to the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, with nearly 500 staff members deploying to Italy to carry out broadcast coverage and public signal production for the Games.
For this edition of the Winter Olympics, in addition to routine broadcast coverage, CMG will also be tasked with international public signal production for figure skating and short track speed skating for the first time.
As the sole global media organization responsible for 8K signal production at this year's Games, CMG will handle 8K public signal production for the opening and closing ceremonies as well.
Meanwhile, CMG's "China Red" 4K/8K ultra-high-definition broadcasting vehicles, which arrived at the San Siro Stadium in Milan on January 13, have completed their initial rollout.
At CMG's Milan outdoor studio and three International Broadcast Center studios, set construction and technical systems testing have largely been finished, while the outdoor mountain studio in Livigno is nearing completion and will soon be handed over for joint debugging and rehearsals.
