Military spokesperson: China to enhance strategic coordination with Russia

China will enhance strategic coordination with Russia and support each other on issues involving their respective core interests and major concerns, said Jiang Bin, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, on Thursday.

Jiang made the remarks at a regular press briefing when responding to a question about a recent video talk between defense ministers of the two countries.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Russia strategic partnership of coordination and the 25th anniversary of the signing of the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation, Jiang noted.

China-Russia relations have maintained high-level development, with military-to-military exchanges and cooperation at all levels and in various fields yielding fruitful results, which have played an important role in maintaining international and regional stability, he said.

China will work with Russia to make new contribution to deepening the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era, and consistently inject positive energy into global security and stability, he said.
