China's Spring Festival travel rush this year is set to be the busiest on record, with an unprecedented 9.5 billion trips expected between February 2 and March 13. Road trips will dominate the peak season, accounting for around 80 percent of all journeys. Railway and civil aviation passenger numbers are projected to reach 540 million and 95 million trips, respectively, with both overall volume and single-day peaks expected to surpass historical records.
