Since last December, a U.S. federal agency has conducted enforcement operations in Minnesota, triggering a series of fatal shootings that have sparked nationwide protests. National security and government affairs expert Joel Rubin condemned the shooting of citizens by government agents as unacceptable, accusing U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi of attempting to coerce Minnesota into providing voter rolls to the federal government by threatening to withdraw Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. He characterised this move as political extortion.
