Large flocks of wintering birds were spotted basking in the sunshine on the wetlands of Lianyungang, a city in Jiangsu Province, after a cold wave that swept eastern China gave way to a mild spell.
These birds were seen wading through the shallows in the wetland park – a safe, stable habitat for migratory birds, with more than 100 species wintering there.
