China Crafted is a virtual exhibition that immerses viewers in the beauty of ancient Chinese artifacts from the Shang, Han, Tang and Song dynasties. Heavenly Han, one of its four sections, reveals a world where myth and daily life merge and where art gives form to a belief that death should mirror life.

Unearthed from the Mawangdui Han tombs, lacquer vessels, silk textiles and tools reconstruct a complete household beneath the earth. These images trace a vision in which the afterlife was respected and furnished like life itself.
